The TDP has been unhappy over the allocation to Andhra Pradesh in the Union Budget

Telugu Desam Party (TDP) Member of Parliament (MP) Jayadev Galla said today that his party would go to the extent of breaking its alliance with the BJP "if that is what is required."

The TDP has been unhappy over the allocation to Andhra Pradesh in the Union Budget.

"Now it's not about political alliance or anything else. It's about getting rightfully what is due to the people of Andhra Pradesh. If that is what is required, we are ready to go to that extent also," the TDP said in response to a question on breaking alliance with BJP.

Jayadev Galla further said that his party expected the BJP to give an action plan with timelines about how the party would fulfil the 19 items pending in the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, that that bifurcated the state of Andhra Pradesh into Telangana and residuary Andhra Pradesh.

"We started with disturbing Parliament and will keep putting pressure upto March 5. They have to give action plan with timelines and how are they going to fulfil in full the 19 items still pending in the Andhra Pradesh reorganisation act and 6 assurances given by then PM in Rajya Sabha," Jayadev Galla said.

Jayadev Galla had previously remarked that the box-office collections of blockbuster "Baahubali" were more than the funds provided to Andhra Pradesh.
