After controversy erupted over the restored BR Ambedkar's statue in Uttar Pradesh's Badaun district being painted in "saffron", a BSP leader today repainted the statue back in blue.
The statute was vandalised last week by miscreants reportedly in presence of police officers, after severe criticism over the incident authorities in Agra restored the statue but "saffron", the colour of the ruling BJP in the state created a political storm.
Later in the day, BSP leader Himendra Gautam decided to repaint the controversial statue as the issue changed colour.
Blue is also the central colour of the BSP party flag.
