J&K's Waliwar area in Ganderbal district erupted in joy as 28-year-old Syed Hamid Bukhari cleared the prestigious All-India Civil Service Examination(IAS).

A resident of Waliwar area of Lar teshilinGanderbal, Hamid is the first from the Pahari community of Kashmir to crack the prestigious examination.
A jubilant Hamid said: "Work hard and success will touch your feet. Just need proper guidance and planning to crack the IAS exams."
He said that he has stood second in the list and has got through the Indian corporate law service (ICLS), a central services department but that he will try to crack the Indian Foreign Service(IFS) rank.
Hamid studied in Umar Public School in Malangpora, Bandipora and then completed his BBA from the Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) Awantipora and is presently doing his post- graduation in International Studies from Jawahar Lal Nehru University (JNU).
