WATCH: In movie-like heist, jewellery shop robbed in Delhi after drilling hole in wall

In a movie-like heist, a jewellery showroom was robbed by making a hole in the wall of the showroom in the Dariba Kalan area of Delhi, India.

The robbers drilled a hole in the jewellery showroom from a neighbouring shop and carried out the robbery.

In addition to jewellery and cash, the thieves also took away the CCTV cameras with them from the jewellery shop.

The police said that they received a video of the incident and further investigation has been launched into the matter.

As per reports, the robbers took away Rs1 lakh (around $1,200) of cash and 14kg of silver jewellery.

As quoted by local media reports, a senior police officer said, "A PCR call regarding a burglary was received at the Kotwali police station. A team was immediately sent to the shop in Dariba Kalan."

The officer said that the store owner informed the authorities that he closed his shop around 8.30 pm (IST) on Saturday and went home.

A huge hole was found in the wall, which was connected to the adjacent vacant shop, when the complainant and his father opened the store on Monday.

The officer added that the owner found that various silver items were stolen when he checked the items in his shop.

"The crime scene was examined by the forensic team and a case was registered against unknown people. We are checking the CCTV footage for clue and further investigation is on," said the officer.
