In an amusing incident from India’s Telangana state, a thief who came to steal some valuables froma house left Rs 20 ($0.24)on the table when he found nothing to take.

The incident was captured on a CCTV camera, showing a man with a fully covered face searching through the houseto steal some belongings. After he couldn't find anything, he looked into the camera and gestured that he didn't find anything in the house.

The thief expressed his disappointment in going empty-handed oncameraand left a Rs 20 note on the table of the house. The incident took place in Maheshwaram area of Rangareddy district of Telangana.

In utmost dismay, the thief left the house only with a water bottle taken from the fridge.

Apart from the video, little is known about the incident, but it certainly adds to the string of some recent attempted thefts, in which the thief has either left empty-handed or returned the valuables.

Two weeks ago, a thief in the Indian state of Maharashtrareturned the valuables he stole upon realising that they belonged to a famous Marathi writer. The house from where the thief stole the valuables, including an LED TV, belonged to Narayan Surve and is located at Neral in Raigad district.

The thief, who was well-read, got emotional and returned all the items he had picked up. He also pasted a small note on a wall, asking for the owner’s forgiveness for stealing from such a great literary figure’s house.

In another incident from Tamil Nadu, a thief took Rs 60,000 ($716.53) in cash, two pairs of gold earrings, and silver anklets and then left an emotional note. The note found at the residence read, "Forgive me. I will return [it] in one month. Someone is sick in my house."
