Violence escalates in Asansol, West Bengal, section 144 imposed

More police personnel have been deployed in the area and internet services have been disrupted to pacify the growing violence in Asansol and other parts of Bengal
Following the clashes in West Bengal during the Ram Navami celebrations, section 144 has been imposed in parts of the state including Asansol and Raniganj.
The section will be imposed till April 4.
Also, the police have restrictedany rally in the area for HanumanJayanti on Saturday.

Meanwhile, BJP leader Babul Supriyohas filed a counter-FIR in response to the one lodged against him for assaulting a police officer.
The leader claimed that he was not allowed to enter his "Own" constituency.
He further said that though he was restricted entry into his constituency, the TMC councillors moved freely around the area.
The clashes that erupted in West Bengal during the Ram Navami have led to the death of five people so far.
The clashes fueled after the ruling party Trinamool Congress and opposition Bharatiya Janata party took out rallies across the state on Sunday to celebrate Ram Navami festival.
