Video: Woman gives CPR, resuscitates elderly man at Delhi airport after he suffers heart attack

A woman successfully saved a man's life at the Delhi airport after administering cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). The elderly man suffered a heart attack and fell on the floor. The woman, who is reportedly a doctor, immediately came to his help and conducted CPR. The man regained consciousness a few minutes later.

A video shows the entire incident, where the woman can be seen helping the elderly man. It has been shared by social media user Rishi Bagree on X. The caption of the video reads, “Today at T2 Delhi Airport, a gentleman in his late 60s had a heart attack in the food court area. This lady Doctor revived him in 5 mins. Super proud of Indian doctors. Please share this so that she can be acknowledged.”

The first video shows the woman giving CPR, while the second video shows the man regaining consciousness. The woman continued with the CPR while waiting for medical help to arrive.

Bagree says the man is in his 60s and suffered a heart attack at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport Terminal 2. Netizens praised the young woman's efforts and applauded her for saving the man's life.

One user wrote, "That's incredible news! Kudos to the lady doctor who acted swiftly and revived the gentleman within just 5 minutes. Proud of our doctors for their dedication and life-saving skills."

"Great to see the Doctor providing Chest Compressions to revive the Person. For the Doctor it might be a routine affair, but for the patient it was a miraculous revival," a user wrote praising the woman.

Another user stressed on the importance of learning CPR and how it is mandatory to learn it in some countries.

"Salute to the doctor! Every Indian should learn how to do CPR. In Germany it’s part of the first aid course which is a mandatory step to get a driving license."

"Great work. CPR, first aids all should be taught in schools," another wrote.

Some others questioned why was an Automated external defibrillator (AED) not available at the airport.

"Great effort by the Lady Doctor, Kudos to her. However the Airport should have had a AED available at the terminal. That would have helped the lady doctor to do her job quickly. Having AED placed in such public places is a legal requirement and is really helpful in case of cardiac arrest. The gentleman is really blessed to have her around in this situation," X user Nitin Durgapal wrote.
