Union Minister Nitin Gadkari fainted on stage on Wednesday (Apr 24) afternoon during an election rally in Maharashtra's Yavatmal city.

As per news agency reports, the senior BJP leader was campaigning for Rajashree Patil when he collapsed on the stage.

He was immediately carried off-stage after the incident. However, Gadkari recovered after a few minutes and completed his speech.

The minister later took to his official X handle and wrote, "Felt uneasy due to heat at a rally at Pusad, Maharashtra. But now I am completely alright and on my way to Warud to take part in the next rally".

Gadkari contested the first phase of the Lok Sabha polls as the Bharatiya Janata Party's candidate from Nagpur. He was participating in the election campaign for Patil who is from Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde's Shiv Sena faction and has been handed the ticket by the Mahayuti alliance for the Yavatmal-Washim seat.

Notably, two similar incidents were reported concerning Gadkari's health in 2018 as well as 2019.

In 2018, the BJP leader fainted on stage during a programme in Ahmednagar.Later, it was reported that he experienced the health scare as his blood sugar levels plummeted.

In 2019, Gadkari fainted on stage during an election rally near Shirdi in Maharashtra, where he recovered after a few minutes.
