Uttar Pradesh: 8 students, 1 teacher run over by a bus near Kannauj; 7 dead

In a horrific incident, nine students were run over by a bus on Agra-Lucknow Expressway near Kannauj on Sunday evening.
Eight students and a teacher were run over by a roadways bus on Agra-Lucknow Expressway near Kannauj on Monday morning.
Among the 9 persons who were run over, six students and a teacher died on the spot, while the other twowere admitted to a hospital in the vicinity in critical condition.
“As of now seven persons, which include a teacher and students have died, while two others are injured,” the police spokesperson said. The students were from Sant Kabirnagar district and were going to Haridwar.
CM Yogi Adityanath announces Rs 2 lakhs each for the kin of those killed in the bus accident in Kannauj. Rs 50,000 each for those injured.
The students,who studied at a college in Sant Kabir Nagar, were going on a trip to Haridwar with their teachers. A police spokesperson said the accident happened in Tirwa area of Kannauj district at around 4.00 am.
