UP woman who alleged sexual assault by BJP MLA's son, claims threat to life

A woman from Shahjahanpur in Uttar Pradesh accused Bhartiya Janta Party's MLA Roshanlal Verma's son Manoj Verma of sexually assaulting her and said that she has been receiving death threats.
Roshanlal is MLA from Shahjahanpur's Tilhar constituency.
Demanding justice, the victim sat on a 'dharna' outside the Collectorate office in Shahjahanpur. She called off the protest only after superintendent of police (Shahjahanpur) KB Singh assured her of action.
A case has also been registered against the accused. As per reports, the sape case has been tranfered to the CB-CID on a directive issued by the state government.
According to the lawyer of the victim, Avdhesh Singh, "Goons barged into the victim's residence and threatened her to withdraw her complaint, saying they would kill her if she didn't step back."
The victim, who is demanding justice from past five years, had also urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to ensure action against the accused.
