Two migrant workers from UP shot at by suspected terrorists in Kashmir's Budgam district

Two migrant workers from Uttar Pradesh sustained gunshot injuries in Budgam, Jammu and Kashmir, on Friday (Nov 1), following an attack by alleged terrorists. According to officials, the victims, identified as Sufiyan and Usman, are currently stable and receiving medical care.
The incident took place in the Mazhama area of Magam, located in Kashmir’s Budgam district, where the two were employed on the Jal Jeevan Project. Both were rushed to a hospital for treatment after the attack.
This attack is one among several recent terrorist incidents in the Union territory. Earlier in the week, terrorists affiliated with the Pakistan-backed Jaish-e-Mohammed group targeted an ambulance in an Indian Army convoy in Jammu and Kashmir’s Akhnoor sector. In response, security forces killed three terrorists in a counter-terrorism operation.
Reports by PTI indicate that these terrorists were planning a significant attack and had chosen the Akhnoor route, commonly used by members of the banned Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) group. Intelligence sources state that the terrorists entered the Akhnoor area through the Battal region. The seizure of a wireless communication device confirmed their connection to JeM.
On October 24, a separate incident in Baramulla saw the death of two Army soldiers and two civilian porters when terrorists attacked a military vehicle.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, speaking during Rashtriya Ekta Diwas celebrations in Kevadiya, Gujarat, on Thursday (Oct 31), condemned the attacks and urged national unity. “Terrorists' 'masters' now know that harming India won't yield results, as India won't spare them!” PM Modi was quoted saying by ANI.
“The people of Jammu and Kashmir have rejected the age-old agenda of separatism and terrorism. They have made the Constitution of India and the democracy of India victorious. They have put an end to the propaganda going on for 70 years with their votes. Today, on National Unity Day, I salute the people of Jammu and Kashmir,” he added.
