Torpedoes of demonetisation, GST have destroyed economy: Rahul Gandhi

Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi, who met leaders of his party ahead of the first anniversary of demonetisation, said November 8 was a "sad day" for India.

Rahul Gandhi said that the very fact that Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that November 8 will be celebrated conveyed the message that he has not understood pain and feelings of people.

The Congress vice-president said that PM Modi had hitthe country's economy with "two torpedoes of demonetisation and GST which have destroyed it."

Yesterday, while addressing a public meeting in Karnayaka, PM Modi and said that there would be no roll-back of the reforms of demonetisation and GST.

The government has said that it will celebrate November 8, the day the ban of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 currency notes was announced last year, as anti-black money day.
