Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a public rally in Bengaluru, Karnataka today to mark the culmination of Karnataka BJP's 'Parivarthana Yatra'.

During his address, PM Modi shared what exactly he means by the term 'TOP' priority of the NDA government.

"Those growing vegetables and fruits are our top priority. When I say TOP, I mean whichever part of the country you go, three vegetables are very much visible -- Tomato, Onion and Potato," PM Modi.

"That's why I call TOP Priority. T for Tomato, O for Onion and P for potato - that makes TOP priority, " he explained.

PM Modi shared that the three food items are staples all across the nation and symbolise his government's initiative called 'Operation Greens'. The project is aimed at improving the living condition of farmers and was announced in the budget as well.

Citing the efficacy of the government-led AMUL initiative, PM Modi noted that 'Operation Greens' will also prove beneficial for vegetable growers.

PM Modi also announced that party's state president B S Yeddyurappa would earmark Rs one lakh crore to improve the state irrigation system if the party comes to power in Karnataka in the upcoming assembly elections.
