<p>At least 8 people died in various parts of north India due to a thunderstorm that struck the region on Wednesday.</p>

<p>The storm has claimed the lives of 3 people in Mathura, 4 people in Etawah and one in Agra.</p>

<p>In a data released by the Home Ministry on Wednesday, <a href="https://www.wionews.com/india-news/imd-issues-thunderstorm-alert-in-13-states-2-union-territories-135026">the number of deaths in the thunderstorms and lightning on May 2-3 accounted for 134 people</a>. The data further stated that over&nbsp;400 people were injured in the storm in five states&nbsp;including the hardest-hit Uttar Pradesh.</p>

<p>The IMD has also issued warning alert to at least 13 states.</p>
