Throw Manik, embrace 'HIRA': PM tells voters in Tripura

Launching a scathing attack on the Tripura govt, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday asked the voters to throw out the Manik Sarkar-led Marxist government during a rally in Sonamura of Tripura.

"Ab Manik nahi chahiye, Manik se mukti le lo, ab aapko hira chahiye. Hira ka H matlab Highway, I matlab I way(digital connectivity) ,R matlab Roadway, A matlab Airway(You don'tneed'Manik' anymore, now you people needHIRA — Highway, I way(digital connectivity), Roadways and Airways.)," PM Modi said.

Amidst huge crowd gathering, Prime Minister Narendra Modi greeted the people of Tripura in their local language.

Afterwards, he will also conduct a rally in Kailashahar of Tripura.

Modi’s election rally in the poll-bound Tripura comes a day after the PM lashed out at the opposition Congress in both Houses of Parliament on Wednesday.

BJP is leaving no stone unturned to grab power in the state, which is arguably the last Left bastion in the country.

The hill state in the North East, bordered on three sides by Bangladesh, has been kept under a thick security blanket ahead of Modi’s arrival.

This is PM Modi’s first political rally in Tripura after he became the Prime Minister in 2014.
