The Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has lowered interest rates. The organisation has slashed interest rates from 8.65% to 8.55% for its nearly 5 crore subscribers.
EPFO newly decided interest rate will be ratified by the finance ministry before being credited to the subscriber's accounts at the end of the financial year.
Despite the cut, the EPF remains one of the best saving instruments in the country over bank deposits and Public Provident Fund which fetch offer much lower interest rates to the subscribers.
