Swaraj assures help to 20 Indians stranded in China

External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on Friday assured help to a group of 20 Indians who are stranded in China.

The group got stuck in the neighbouring country after they lost their group visa.

The matter was highlighted by a man called Kautilya Bansal who wrote to Swaraj on Twitter, requesting help for the group of 20 Indians, including an infant.

His tweet read, "Respected ma'am, they all are Stuck at Airport without Food. Nowhere to go and with no money. Can you please into the matter and take action."

Responding to him Swaraj tweeted, "@EOIBeijing : Please expedite this. There is an infant in the group (sic)".

She also assured help to an Indian man, whose eight-year-old son's passport was damaged on a trip to Toronto.

The tweet read, "Mission officials are already in touch with the Group since yesterday and necessary documents have also been issued. We will extend all help so that they are able to depart early today".
