Sushma Swaraj reprimands Sidhu for hugging Pak Army Chief: Harsimrat Kaur Badal

Union Cabinet Minister of Food Processing Harsimrat Kaur Badal on Monday took to Twitter stating that Minister of External Affairs Sushma Swaraj had reprimanded senior Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu for "messing up Kartarpur corridor," news agency ANI reported.

The cricketer-turned-politician was also chided for "misusing political clearance granted for a private visit by hugging military Chief responsible for killing our soldiers," Badal tweeted.

According to reports, Sidhu, during a meeting with Swaraj, raised the issue of Kartarpur corridor and was told that the matter has already been by Union Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal in her letter to the EAM.

External Affairs Minister (EAM) Sushma Swaraj had written to Union Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal over Kartarpur Sahib corridor issue, the government has been taking up the matter with Pakistan, news agency ANI reported.

According to reports, the government maintains having received no revert from Pak government.

"Pakistan's government has so far neither agreed to include visits to Kartarpur Sahib by Indian pilgrims nor sent any official communication for establishing the corridor," ANI reported.

Meanwhile, Minister of State, External Affairs and Former Chief of Army Staff General VK Singh also maintained the same saying India has “not received any proposal” from Pakistan to open the route.

“Nothing has come from the government's (Pakistan) side. This issue has been going on for a very long time. If anything comes about we will let you know," he stated on Monday.
