The Supreme Court on Friday refused to lift the ban on firecrackers in Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh.
The court will now hear the case against on January 5.
The Supreme court had in October ordered a ban on the sale of firecrackers ahead of Diwali and even after Diwali in Delhi, Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh till the next hearing.
The ruling came in order to curb the rise in air pollution caused by burning of firecrackersafter Diwali in Delhi.
