Srinagar records season's coldest night at minus 2.3 degrees Celsius

The media has reported around two dozen deaths due to snowfall, rains and flooding in other parts of Pakistan, which is witnessing an unusually long winter.

Leh was the coldest town in the state at minus 11.6 degrees Celsius. Other town like Kargil saw night temperature dropping to minus 9.

With winter setting in early, night temperatures fell below the freezing point through the Kashmir valley.Pahalgam was at minus 5.7 degrees Celsius, while the famous ski resort Gulmarg recorded a temperature of minus 5.4 degrees celsius.

The weather office has forecast mainly clear weather till Friday.
