The farmersin Congress bastion Amethi staged a protestagainst Rahul Gandhi demanding a return of their land.
The farmers protested and raised slogans against the newly elected president.
They demanded that in return of the land the Congress party should provide them employment.
The farmers warned the Congress leader of continuing the protest in case their demands are not fulfilled.
They further said that that they will demolish the structure built on the land and protest there.
The farmers protested with a banner stating "Shame on you Rahul, return the lands of farmers".
The protest was held across Samrat Cycle factory, which was inaugurated by former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi when he was MP from Amethi.
The land was acquired by Jain brothers in 1980s, with a promise to provide employment to the people.
However, the company had to shut down after it incurred losses.
No compensation was paid to the farmers, who suffered the loss of their land and employment.
