
The normal life got disrupted in Mumbai as rains continue in several parts of the city on Monday, July 9. 
Most of the Mumbai region woke up to yet another day of incessant rainfall, causing waterlogging at several places and submerging rail tracks on some routes. 
There were delays in suburban trains, and many bus routes had to be diverted.
The heavy downpour had also affected the Central Railway line as several train services have been temporarily shut down or delayed.
"Precautionary holiday declared for schools, colleges in Mumbai Metropolitan Region for the safety of the students due to the heavy rainfall experienced in the city and the suburban areas. Heavy rains forecasted everyone is advised to stay safe,"  said Education Minister Vinod Tawde. 
According to Skymet Weather, extremely heavy Monsoon rains continue to lash Mumbai as the city recorded 3-digit rainfall for the second consecutive day on Sunday. In the past 24 hours from 8:30 am on Sunday, Colaba Observatory recorded 171 mm of rains, whereas Santa Cruz Observatory had witnessed 122 mm.
Today, Western Railways has been sending updates about routes that have witnessed massive waterlogging. Authorities have been guiding passengers to avoid travelling on selective routes. 
However, Western Railways announced that WR Suburban services are running normally. There is no disruption due to rains.
