Republic Day: Fidayeen alert issued in Kashmir

A fidayeen (suicide) attack alert has been issued in Kashmir a day ahead of Republic Day on January 26.

Intelligence agencies said an attacker from Maharashtra, who is currently in the Valley, is expected to carry out a suicide bombing inside or near a Republic Day venue.

The agencies added that security personnel are to frisk everybody walking into the venues -- including women, since it is possible that the attacker is female.
