Rajput Karni Sena president Lokendra Singh Kalvi on Saturday said that he had given a call for ''Bharat Bandh'' on December 1 and won't allow the release of Padmavati.

Rajput Karni Sena president's comments come amid raging controversy over the film. Rajputs have accused the movie's director ofdistorting historical facts and have taken exception to an alleged romantic sequence between Padmavati, a Hindu, and Alauddin Khilji, a Muslim.

Rajput Karni Sena chief, Lokendra Singh Kalvi, claimed to have the backing of several social organisations and said that the film will not be released at any cost.

Meanwhile, Several film bodies came out in support of director Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmavati and questioned the government's silence on threats by Rajput groups against the release of the film.

The Central Board of Film Certification has returned the movie "Padmavati" to its makers on Friday saying the application is "incomplete".
