Rajasthan Exit Poll Results 2023: Revolving door trend to continue as BJP handed advantage, Cong keeps hopes up

Almost all the exit polls have given the Narendra Modi-led Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) a win in the Rajasthan assembly polls, suggesting that the state will once against opt for a revolving door policy. Congress is, however, upbeat that it will retain power in the state, regardless of what the exit polls have shown. 

BJP MLA Rajendra Rathore says, "Exit polls are estimates...BJP is going to form the govt in Rajasthan with a massive mandate...We will repeat (govt) in Madhya Pradesh," reports ANI news agency.

Congress leader Jitu Patwari says, "BJP does not have a lead anywhere. Be it Chhattisgarh, Telangana, Madhya Pradesh or Rajasthan, Congress is forming the govt in all four states..."

Another pollster Jist-TIF-NAI has predicted BJP's win, indicating that Rajasthan conituing with its 25-year-old tradition of voting out the incumbent government.  According to its projections, the BJP will likely win 110 seats while the Congress party getting restricted to 70 seats.

The Republic TV-Matrize exit poll projects that BJP will gain a majority with 115-130 seats, whereas the incumbent Congress may have to settle with 65-75 seats. 

 Rajasthan Minister and Congress leader Pratap Khachariyawas says, "Exit polls, surveys are showing that Congress is winning in Rajasthan. People of the BJP are frauds. They only do Hindu-Muslim...Congress will form govt in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh..."

According to CVoter projections, BJP might get 104 seats, with Congress trailing behind with 81 seats. Others may get 14 seats in Rajasthan

The India Today-Axis My India has predicted a hung assembly with the Congress projected to get 86-106 seats, while the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is expected to secure 80-100 seats. The other parties and independents are anticipated to garner 9-18 seats.

TimewsNow-ETG pollster has also predicted BJP to win 108-128 assembly seats, while Congress is projected to get 56-72 seats, and others 13-21 seats.

The PollStrat exit poll gave an edge to the BJP giving the saffron party 100-110 seats, Congress 90-100 seats and others 5-15 seats.

There are 200 seats in the Rajasthan Assembly and the majority mark is 101. Though exit polls heavily predict a BJP win Rajasthan, they have largely been innaccurate.

Rajasthan saw about 74.23 voters turnout on the voting day, which was held on November 25, 2023.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot sounded confident of Congress returning to power in the state regardless of the exit polls.

He asserted that the BJP is not going to win in any of the five poll-going states. “No matter what exit polls say, Congress will form the government in Rajasthan. BJP is not winning in any of the 5 states.”

The voting on the 199 seats in Rajasthan was held on November 23. The result will be announced on December 3.
