Rahul Gandhi is all set to be sworn-inas the party chief today after he was elected unopposed as president of the Indian National Congress on Monday.

Rahul's mother Sonia Gandhi has stepped down as the president after serving for nearly two decades. She assumed office in 1998.

Rahul has led the campaign for the 14th Gujarat assembly elections on behalf of the Congress party. He had also recently shown the door toMani Shankar Aiyar after the latter refused to follow Rahul's directive to apologise to the PM for his 'neech aadmi' remark.

Recently, anerroneous Tweet from the official handle of Rahul Gandhi associated with price rise during PM Modi's regime proved to be a major embarrassment for Gandhi and Congress. Gandhi laterdeleted the Tweet and apologised.

The Gandhi scion's first test would be Gujarat Assembly elections, how hecarries forward his mother's legacy will be crucial.

As of now, nearly all exit polls and political analysis point toward BJP's win in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh; results for both the states are due on Monday.
