Punjab Lok Sabha Election Result 2024: Congress wins 7 seats, AAP gets 3

Punjab Lok Sabha elections 2024:Congress won seven seats, the Aam Admi Party won three, while Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) won oneand independents won two out of the 13 Lok Sabha seats of the north Indian state of Punjab.

As part of the 18th Lok Sabha elections, Punjab went to polls on June 1 for 13 Lok Sabha seats in a single-phase voting. As per the Election Commission's data, the state's voter turnout up was 62.80 per cent. At present, the Aam Aadmi Party is in power in the state. During the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, the state had recorded a voter turnout of 65.96 per cent.

Punjab has a total of 13 Lok Sabha seats out of which, four are reserved for the Scheduled Caste (SC) candidates and the remaining are unreserved.

BJP Candidates

-The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) handed the ticket to former Congress MP and former Punjab chief minister Amarinder Singh's wife Preneet Kaur from Patiala who had won the same seat in the 2019 general elections on Congress ticket.

- Dinesh Singh "Babbu" has been handed the ticket from the Gurdaspur seat.

- Singer and MP from North West Delhi Hans Raj Hans has been fielded from the Faridkot seat.

- BJP fielded former Indian Ambassador to the United States Taranjit Singh Sandhu from the Amritsar constituency.

- From the Jalandhar constituency, the party fielded former AAP leader Sushil Kumar Rinku.

- MP Ravneet Singh Bittu has been fielded from the Ludhiana seat.

- AAP has fielded Dr Balbir Singh from the Patiala seat

- Punjabi actor and singer Karamjit Anmol has been handed the ticket from Faridkot seat.

- Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal has been fielded from Amritsar.

- Laljit Singh Bhullar from Khadoor Sahib.

- Gurmeet Singh Khudia from Bathinda.

- Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer from Sangrur.
