The controversy around Rahul Gandhi's Mansarovar Yatra got cleared on Friday after pictures of him from Kailash Mansarovar went viral on social media platform Twitter.

She also posted a forty-five-second video in which Gandhi can be seen interacting with the pilgrims.

The annual Kailash Mansarovar Yatra to the sacred lake shrine at 13,000 feet began on September 6 from Doda hills with a first-ever chopper service too ready to fly pilgrims.

The Congress president too embarked on the 12-day trip to Kailash Mansarovar on August 31 via Nepal.

Gandhi's trip to Kailash Mansarovar has been questioned by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on the authenticity of pictures of the lake and its surrounding posted by him on Twitter.

On April 26, the plane carrying Gandhi and some others from Delhi to Hubballi airport in Karnataka developed a technical problem and tilted heavily on the left side.

The plane dipped steeply with violent shuddering, but soon recovered and landed safely,after which Rahul Gandhi had expressed his undertake the pilgrimage.

The arduous pilgrimage to Mount Kailash, which is considered the abode of Lord Shiva in Hindu mythology and is in the Tibetan Himalayas, is organised every year between June and September.
