People in lakhs throng India Gate, cripple traffic

Telangana is all set to become the first state to provide round-the-clock electricity supply to its farmers from December 31.

According to a government release, close to 23 lakhagricultural pump sets will help inboosting the overall power demand to 11,000 MW by March 2018.

Nearly 12610 crore rupees have been invested by the state to set-upnew power lines, transformers and sub-stations to amplify the power supply.

"Telangana is going to create history by becoming the first state in the country offering free power to farmers 24 hours a day," noted therelease.
