Panipat Assembly Election Result 2024 LIVE: The Indian state of Haryana voted in the assembly electionon Saturday (Oct 5). There were a total of 90 constituencies in the state and electionwas held for all seats in a single phase on Saturday.

On Tuesday (Oct 8), the counting of votes began and the results for all the constituencies were announced on the same day.

The high-stakes campaigning for the election concluded on Friday.

The top parties in the fray were the BJP, the Congress, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and thepre-poll alliance between the Indian National Lok Dal -Bahujan Samaj Party (INLD-BSP) and the Jannayak Janta Party-Azad Samaj Party (JJP-ASD).

What happened in the 2019 election?

Panipat Rural: BJP's Mahipal Dhanda won the election securing 67,068 votes. The runner-up wasJNJPleader Devender Kadian who won over 45,000 votes.

Panipat City: Parmod Kumar Vij of the BJP won the 2019 election as he secured 76,863 votes in total. Congress' Sanjay Aggarwal secured the second place with37,318 votes.

Israna (SC): Congress leader Balbir Singh Balmiki won the election from the constituency with61,376 votes while BJP's Krishan Lal Panwar was second with41,361 votes.

Samalkha: The 2019 election in Samalkha was won by Congress leader Dharam Singh Choker who secured 81,898 votes. The runner-up was BJP's Shashi Kant Kaushik who won66,956 votes.
