Pakistani army targets Indian positions on LoC

Heavy shelling and firing were reported on the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district from the Pakistani side yesterday.

Small arms, automatics, and mortars were used as the Pakistani army targeted military and civilian facilities in the Balakote sector on Tuesday evening.

Defence Ministry sources noted that the Indian positions retaliated to the firing, an exchange which kept on for nearly an hour.

The Pakistani Army carried out ceasefire violations on the LoC in the Rajouri district earlier yesterday.

No casualty or loss of life has been reported on the Indian side, although some civilian houses have been damaged.
