Pak troops open fire along LoC in J&K; Indian security forces retaliate

Unarmed transport aircraft, survey aircraft and helicopters shall be permitted

Pakistan Army opened fire on Indian troops along the Line of Control(LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir(J&K) on Thursday morning.

Around 9:30 am (IST), the Pakistan army initiated unprovoked firing which was immediately retaliated by the Indian army.

“Pak initiated unprovoked ceasefire violation starting with the firing of small arms followed by shelling with mortars along LoC in Shahpur andKirni sectors in Poonch district,” Indian army said in a statement.

There were no immediate reports of any injuries in the area, however, district administration have orderedsuspension ofschool in Kerni sector dueto the firing.

Last month Pakistan had shelled the area with mortars and firing small arms along the LoC injuring at least two civilians.
