
Shortly after Palestine recalled its Ambassador to Pakistanfor sharing the stage with Hafiz Saeed, Palestine issued an official statement reasserting its "commitment and keenness to maintain strong and friendly relations with the Republic of India."
The official statement was tweeted by Union External Affairs MinisterSushma Swaraja short while ago.
The statement further outlined Palestine's support to India in "its war against terrorism" and ''terrorist threats'' and called the two nations as "real partners in the war against terrorism."
India had strongly condemned Palestinian Ambassador toPakistan for sharing the stage with terrorist Hafiz Saeed.
"Government of India has strongly conveyed to the Palestinian side that the Palestinian Ambassador in Pakistan's association with terrorist Hafiz Saeed, who is prescribed by the United Nations, at an event in Rawalpindi on December 29 is unacceptable," the External Affairs Ministry said in a statement.
"The Palestinian side has conveyed deep regrets over the incident and assured the Government of India that they are taking serious cognizance of their Ambassador's presence at this event. They have said they will deal with this matter appropriately," read MEA's official press release.
