A 20-year-old man was killed when a fire broke out in a three-storiedgodown at Mittal Estate Building in Andheri, Mumbai road in early hours of Thursday.
About five fire tenders were swarmed to the area to get the fire under control.
The deceased has been identified as Pradeep Vishwakarma and he was declared dead on arrival at Copper Hospital. He had received major burn injuries in the blaze.
The cause of the fire is still being investigated. Further information is awaited.
“Nobody has been hurt. The shops which caught fire had plastic drums, oil, packaging material, plastic bottles, plywood, wooden furniture, chemicals and other scrap materials,” Chief fire officer PS Rahangdale was quoted saying.
