
OdishaLok Sabha Election Result 2024: BJP secured 20 seats while the Congress party won only one seat in the general elections in the east Indian state of Odisha as results were declared on June 4.BJD suffered a huge embarrassment at the hands of the BJP by failing to secure even a single Lok Sabha seat.
Election here were held over four phases, from May 13 to June 1.Voters across the state exercised their democratic right to elect the 21 Lok Sabha members representing Odisha in the 18th parliamentary elections.
Following extensive deliberation, both the BJD and BJP had reached the decision to refrain from forging an alliance for the Lok Sabha Elections in 2024.
Earlier, exit polls also predicted a dominant performance by the BJP in the state, projecting them to secure approximately 18-20 seats. In the exit polls, BJD was expected to clinch 0-2 seats, with the Congress trailing behind with 0-1 seats.
The steadfast stronghold of Bhadrak has been held by the Biju Janata Dal since 1998. Notably, Naveen Patnaik, representing the Biju Janata Dal, currently holds the position of Chief Minister in the state.
