Now, BJP on dharna demanding AAP withdraw protest, solve water crisis

In a dramatic plot twist, BJP leaders have now jumped on an indefinite hunger-strike.

West Delhi MP Parvesh Sahib Singh, MLA Manjinder Singh Sirsa and leader of Opposition Vijender Gupta started the protest on Friday stating that it will go on until the Delhi government resolves the water crisis.

The leaders demanded Kejriwal resolve the water crisis in the national capital or step down. BJP's Delhi wing also wrote a letter to President Ram Nath Kovind seeking an end to the gridlock at the earliest.

"We want the CM, who is the elected representative of Delhi, to rise up to the occasion and instil faith in the voters who brought him to power. Taps have run dry in the whole city in peak summer. But Kejriwal has deserted the public and gone into hiding at LG house," Gupta said.

The letter urged President Kovind to intervene and ask Kejriwal and his key ministers to end their "childish, adamant, and irresponsible behaviour". The letter noted that the Kejriwal-administration is busy seeking cheap publicity when they should be addressing Delhi's the acute water shortage.

Arvind Kejriwal, along with Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia and Cabinet ministers Satyendra Jain and Gopal Rai, has been camping at the official accommodation-cum-office of L-G Anil Baijal since Monday evening.
