Police said Saturday that the 16-year-old Greater Noida boy accused of murdering his mother and sister did so because his mother had scolded and beaten him.

Police said the boy thought his mother did not love him.

Police said Saturday the boy killed his mother because she had scolded and beaten him for studying on the sofa.

His father had earlier confiscated his cellphone from him for not doing well at school.

Police said the boy had confessed to having killed his mother and sister with a cricket bat, scissors, and a pizza cutter.

The mother (42) and daughter (11) were found dead around 11.30 pm on Tuesday. The boy's father was away on work at the time.

Police said the boy called a cab after the murders, and travelled to New Delhi Railway Station.

From there he made his way to Ludhiana, Chandigarh, Shimla, Ranchi, and Mughalsarai.

But he made a call to his father from Uttar Pradesh, which is how policetraced him.

The boy was detained from Mughalsarai, Uttar Pradesh on Friday.

So far, the police have ruled out the possibility of anyone else being involved in the murders.

Luv Kumar, Senior Superintendent, Noida Police told media that the boy had probably called his father in a state of panic after misplacing the bag of cash he was carrying with him.
