Noida airport: Aviation Ministry calls meeting to review project's progress

On Tuesday, The Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) called all its stakeholders to review the progress of the Noida International Greenfield Airport.
The meeting was attended by Civil Aviation Minister Suresh Prabhu, Minister of State for Civil Aviation Jayant Sinha, YEIDA CEO Prabhat Kumar, and other senior officials of the central and state government.
The airport is part of the ministry's NABH (NextGen Airports for Bharat) Nirman initiative and will be developed at Noida's Jewar area on Public Private Partnership model (PPP).
MoCA had already granted site clearance for the project in July last year.The Yogi Adityanath government appointed Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) as the implementing agency on its behalf in October 2017.
Around 5,000 hectares of land has been identified by YEIDA for the project; 240 hectares of land belongs to the state government while the remaining rests with private owners.
The first phase of acquisition of land for construction of terminal buildings and runways is expected to be initiated in June this year by the YEIDA.
