We take no cognizance of fringe elements that spread hate and disharmony: MEA on US, Canada gurudwaras banning entry of Indian officials

Days after reports of gurudwaras banning entry of Indian officialsemerged, the Ministry of External Affairshas negated the issue saying that they take no cognizance of "fringe elements that spread hate and disharmony".
MEA spokesperson Raveesh Kumar said " Majority of Sikhs in Canada and other parts of world share warm relations with India and want better relations with India and their country of residence. We take no cognizance of fringe elements that spread hate and disharmony. "
Earlier a report highlighted on the restriction imposed on Indian officials from the Gurudwaras in US and Canada.
Sikh Coordination Committee East Coast (SCCEC) and American Gurudwara Parbandhak Committee (APGC) who claimto be the largest umbrella organisations of Sikh gurudwaras in the US have banned entry of Indian officials from 96 gurudwaras in the country. Before this 14 gurudwaras in Ontario, Canada banned the entry of Indian diplomatic officials.
Referring to relations with Pakistan, Raveesh Kumar said terror and talks cannot go together. He added that talks on terror can definitelygo ahead.
Speaking on NSA level talks, he said that the External Affairs Ministry raised the issue of cross-borderterrorism in the NSA level talks with Pakistan.
