Mumbai: Man dies after falling from 5th floor of Mantralaya building

A man died after jumping from the fifth floor of Mubai's Mantralaya building, the administrative headquarters of the Maharashtra government.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis' office is also on the fifth floor of the Mantralaya building.

The man, Harshal Raote, was admitted to St George Hospital where he died from his injuries.

An investigation into Raote's death -- to ascertain whether it was suicide -- is underway.

If it is, this will not be the first suicide at the Mantralaya building.

Earlier, a farmer named Dharma Patil had committed suicide by consuming poison in the building.
