
Mehul Choksi is in Antigua in the Caribbean and has got hold of a local passport, government sources said Tuesday.
PTI reported the sources as saying that, in response to a diffusion notice issued by Interpol, the Enforcement Directorate has been informed by Antiguan authorities that Choksi in the country this month.
Choksi and his nephew Nirav Modi had fled the country in the first week of January, about a fortnight before before the country's biggest banking scam surfaced.
Modi and Choksi are accused of defrauded Punjab National Bank of over Rs 13,000 crore.
The CBI has booked Choksi in two cases related to the scam and filed charge sheet against him.
A special court in Mumbai has issued a non-bailable warrant against him.
