May your love grow from strength to strength and may you be an inspiration to all Indians in this age of growing intolerance and communal hatred. God bless you," tweeted Rahul Gandhi.

Tina and Athar got married on Saturday in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam hill station. The Delhi celebration will take place on April 14, wrote the new bride on Twitter.

The Akhil Bhartiya Hindu Mahasabha had written a letter to Tina's parents saying that while they were proud of the UPSC topper's achievements, it was ‘painful’ that she chose to marry a Muslim, media reports said. Tina had responded to the attacks by sharing a message on her Facebook page with the hashtag "Free Love".
