The Surat Police on Tuesday said that a man from Andhra Pradesh has claimed to be the father of the minor who was found dead close to a national highway in Surat.
The man said that his daughter went missing from outside his home in October 2017.
The police, however, said that they will confirm the man's claim only after a DNA test. The police also said that they will verify the missing complaints at local police stations in Andhra Pradesh in order to examine the man's claims.
A body of an eleven-year-old girl was found in Surat with 86 injuries.
Medical reports have revealed that a blunt object was used to rupture the victim's organs.The Forensichead of Civil hospital said that the body also had injuries on private parts.
