
West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee on Saturday hit out at the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi Anil Baijal describing thesituation in the national capital as"constitutional crisis".
"This is a constitutional crisis. But there should never be such crisis due to which a government and the common people have to suffer," the West Bengal CM said.
While addressing a press conference Banerjee said that she was not allowed to meet the Delhi CM and her appointment with the LG was also not entertained.
The work in the capital was disrupted for the past four months
"There are twoCrore people in Delhi. The work has been disrupted for four months, there can be nothing more unfortunate than this. LG is the appointed leader, if not he then to whom will one to go to seek time to talk? I wanted to meet Delhi CM but I was told, verbally and not even written, that permission will not be granted. Then four of us wrote to LG for anappointment but we were told that he (LG) is not even there. We waited so long but we were not allowed".
She also sought the intervention of the Prime Minister to resolve the matter.
Expressing his support to the Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidusaid that the LG should allow the government to function.
"We came here to express our support to Delhi CM. The LG has to allow this government to function. Mamata Ji had asked permission from the LG to see the CM to which there was no response".
He further said that the Chief mInisters of the four state were requesting the Lieutenant Governor and government of India to talk it out.
Blaming the Central government behind the " disruption" in Delhi, Kerala chief minister said that centre is restricting the federal structure which is a threat to the nation.
"Because of the attitude of Central government,this has happened. The centre is restricting the federal system which is a threat to the nation. Everyone is with him (Delhi CM). All the democratic people are with Delhi CM".
"We came here to show our support to Delhi CM. We demand that the Prime Minister interferes in this issue andtakes necessary steps to solve this problem," saidKarnataka CM HD Kumaraswamy.
Earlier, the chief ministers of West Bengal, Karnataka, Kerala and Andhra Pradesh visited the residence of Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday after they were denied the permission to meet the CM.
Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal has been camping at the official accommodation-cum-office of L-G Anil Baijal since Monday.
The CM is staging a protest along with Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia and Cabinet ministers Satyendra Jain and Gopal Rai.
The protest seeks an end to the Delhi IAS officers' undeclared strike and approval to his government's proposal for doorstep delivery of ration to the poor.
