The 16-year-old girl who had been raped and then set on fire in Sagar, Madhya Pradesh has died. 

The victim had been admitted to hospital with 80 per cent burns. Police have arrested two people. 

The 16 year old had been attacked in December. 

The 16 year old had been raped and set on fire by two persons at Deval village, about 100 km from Sagar district headquarters. 

Police had said then that the two men — one of whom was thought to be a minor — had entered the girl's house, and raped her. 

When she cried for help, they poured kerosene on her and set her on fire. The kerosene had been lying in the house. 

The girl's father had died a few years earlier. The girl's mother was at the time visiting her mother. 

The girl's grandfather, who is hearing-imparied, was sleeping outside the house when the incident took place, police said.
