Over a dozen students were detained while attempting to march towards the parliament to protest against alleged irregularities in competitive exams.
Carrying posters and banners with slogans like "sack Union Education Minister" and "NTA must go" written over them, students staged demonstration against the reported incidents of paper leak and corruption in the medical entrance exam.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi says, "...There was a period of scams when it was shamelessly accepted publicly that if 1 rupee is sent from Delhi, only 15 paise reaches. In 1 rupee, there is a scam of 85 paise. This world of scams had drowned the country in the depths of despair. There was policy paralysis, we were in the fragile 5...If a poor person wants to buy a house, he had to give bribe of thousands of rupees. For gas connection, people had to make rounds to the MPs and even then they did not get a gas connection..."

On Congress MP Rahul Gandhi's speech, Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray says, "Tell me what wrong did he say? Where did he insult (Hinduism)? He was not allowed to show the picture of Lord Shiva, is this Hindutva? We also raise slogans of Jai Shri Ram. The Prime Minister openly says Jai Shri Ram in election rallies. But if someone other than BJP says it in the Parliament, is it a crime? I do not believe that Rahul Gandhi insulted Hindutva yesterday. He said in clear words that BJP does not mean Hindutva. We are also Hindus and none of us will insult Hindutva and will not tolerate insult to Hindutva, and Rahul ji is also included in that. BJP does not mean Hindutva, our Hindutva is sacred..."

Union Minister G Kishan Reddy says, "Rahul Gandhi gave a speech in Parliament yesterday, he said that Hindus commit violence. I condemn his speech. Rahul Gandhi should understand that as long as there is a Hindu majority in India, there will be democracy. If Hindus are not in the majority, there will be no democracy in this country, there will be no Constitution either... He should immediately apologize to the people of India..."

Congress Lok Sabha MP KC Venugopal lashed out at the central government over the recent canopy collapse incident at the Delhi airport and the Rajkot airport.
Addressing the lower house of Parliament, Venugopal said, "Delhi Airport roof collapsed, Jabalpur Airport roof collapse, Rajkot Airport canopy collapse, conditions of roads in Ayodhya is bad, leakage in Ram Mandir, cracks in Mumbai Harbour link road, three new bridges collapsed in Bihar, Pragati maidan tunnel submerged, all these constructions during the NDA period have collapsed. Under their rule, every building is under the threat of collapsing..."
"...I am challenging the Prime Minister to inquire about the electoral bonds... One of the biggest scams the country ever saw is the electoral bond scam... " he added.

Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav said he will not trust EVMs even if he wins all 80 Lok Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh.
"When the Model Code of Conduct was imposed, the government and the commission were favouring some people. I do not want to go into details. Somewhere a question has been raised on that institution as well," he said in an apparent reference to the Election Commission.
"I did not trust EVMs yesterday, I don't trust them today. And even if I win all 80 seats, I will not trust EVMs," he said. "... The issue of EVMs is not dead, and we Samajwadis will remain adamant on it," Yadav added.
To this, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla later said it would be better if questions were not raised on the impartiality of the Election Commission.

Participating in the debate on the Motion of Thanks to the president's address, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav said the 2024 Lok Sabha polls marked the end of communal politics in India, and were a moral victory for the INDIA bloc.
The former Uttar Pradesh chief minister called June 4, the day the election results were declared, as the day of independence from communal politics for India.
"The whole India has understood that INDIA is pro-India. This election is the moral victory of INDIA. It is a victory of positive politics. It is victory of PDA, social justice movement. 2024's message is also full of responsibility for the INDIA bloc."
"This election is a new era of positive politics, pro-Constitution people have won, the Constitution has won... It is the end of top-down politics," he said.

A day after Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's controversial speech in the Lok Sabha, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has asked National Democratic Alliance (NDA) MPs to "follow the rules" of Parliament.
During the meeting at the Balyogi Audotortium in Parliament, the Prime Minister also advised the NDA MPs to ensure that their behaviour on the floor of the House is exemplary.
He advised the MPs "not to give unnecessary statements to the media, to devote time to their constituencies, and come to the Parliament with proper preparations."

Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of Opposition in India's lower house of Parliament, Lok Sabha, on Monday (July 1) carried with him posters depicting Lord Shiva, and Sikh Guru Sri Guru Nanak Dev as he slammed the ruling BJP government for a "systematic and a full-scale assault".
