Lok Sabha polls 2019: PM Modi casts his vote in Ahmedabad

Prime Minister Narendra Modi cast his vote at a polling booth in Ranip, Ahmedabad on Tuesday morning.
Modi cast his vote at polling booth in Nishan Higher Secondary School in Ranip, Ahmedabad.
Drawing an analogy between voting and Kumbh, Modi said him exercising his franchise is like taking a holy dip in Kumbh.
''Today third phase of polling is underway, I am fortunate that I also got the opportunity to fulfil my duty in my home state of Gujarat. Like you feel pure after a holy dip in Kumbh, one feels pure after casting vote in this festival of democracy,'' Modi said after casting his vote.
PM was accompanied by party president Amit Shah.
Earlier, Modi met his mother Heeraben Modi at her residence in Gandhinagar and received her blessings.
Modi also met some people outside his mother's residence in Gandhinagar.
All 26 constituencies in Gujarat including Gandhinagar, where BJP president Amit Shah is contesting, go to polls in the third phase of polling today.
