Lok Sabha Elections 2024: Phase 1 voting is on April 19. Here's how to find your polling booth

Lok Sabha Election 2024: India has begun one of its biggest elections this year with 28 states and eight Union Territories going to polls. The seven-phase Lok Sabha elections started on April 19, with many states going for the simultaneous Assembly and Lok Sabha Polls. The high-octane Lok Sabah elections will be conducted across seven phases, starting on Friday, with subsequent phases on April 26, May 7, May 13, May 20, May 25, and June 1.

The counting of votes will be done on June 4.

On Friday, Phase 1 of the general elections commenced with 102 constituencies going to polls, out of 543 Lok Sabha constituencies.

To find out which polling booth in your assembly area you are supposed to vote, use the EPIC number present on the Voter ID Card.

Lok Sabha Elections 2024: How to find your polling booth?

Every Election Photo ID Card (EPIC), also known as the Voter ID card, comes with a unique 10-digit alpha-numeric number. This number is called EPIC code, which is assigned by the Election Commission of India (ECI). The number is proof that you are a registered voter. Hence, your first task will be to find your EPIC number.

To locate the EPIC code on the Voter ID card, look at the front side and find the 10-digit number there. One can also get their EPIC code from the National Voters’ Service Portal (NVSP). Here’s how:

Steps to find your EPIC code/number online

1. Go to the official NVSP portal.

2. There, under ‘Services’, click on ‘Search in Electoral Roll'.

3. Now, select ‘Search by Details’ or ‘Search by Mobile’.

4. If you choose ‘Search by Details’, enter all the details, and captcha code, and hit ‘Search’ to see the EPIC code.

5. Similarly, if you chose ‘Search by Mobile’, enter the registered mobile phone number, and captcha code, and press ‘Send OTP’.

6. A one-time password (OTP) will be sent to the registered mobile number.

7. Use the OTP to see your EPIC number.

After finding your EPIC number, follow the steps given below to find your polling booth:

1. Go to electoralsearch.eci.gov.in.

2. Enter the EPIC code, state, and captcha code, and click ‘Search.’

3. The booth details will be displayed on the screen.
