Lok Sabha Elections 2024 phase 7 LIVE: Voter turnout of 59.45% recorded

The Election Commission of India (ECI) has released final data for phase 7 polls, with voter turnout recorded at 59.45%.

India's mammoth elections, spanning 7 phases in total from April 19 to June 1, came to an end today. Now, the results will be declared on June 4. 

A voter turnout of 58.34 per cent was recorded till 5 PM during the seventh phase on Saturday, 1 June, concluding polling for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

India News- D-Dyanimcs exit poll has predicted a landslide victory for the incumbent National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the Lok Sabha 2024 polls. It says the alliance may win 371 seats, just 29 short of the ambitious milestone of 400 seats. The poll predicted rival INDIA alliance to win 125 seats while the rest 47 may go to others.

The Republic Bharat- P Marq exit poll has given NDA 359 seats. On the other hand, INDIA alliance is likely to win 154 seats whereas the rest 30 may go to others.

The voter turnout was recorded at 58.3 pc till 5 pm. Bihar recorded the lowest voter turnout of over 35 per cent while Himachal Pradesh recorded the highest at 48.6 per cent.

After the INDIA alliance leaders meet, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal said, "INDIA alliance is getting 295+ seats and the BJP will win around 220 seats and the NDA alliance will 235 seats. INDIA alliance will form a strong and stable government on its own. (The PM face) will be decided on June 4..."

"We (INDIA bloc) will do very well in Jharkhand and win more than 10 seats," says Jharkhand CM Champai Soren after INDIA bloc's meeting in Delhi.

In a U-turn after boycotting all Exit Poll discussions, saying that they do not want to indulge in speculation and slugfest for TRP, Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera said the INDIA bloc has now decided to take part in the debates.

BJP National President JP Nadda said, "The final phase of the election has been completed...I would like to thank the ECI for successfully conducting the elections with proper arrangements...It is a matter to notice for the world how the ECI conducts elections in the biggest democratic country. I would like to thank the workers of the party too for campaigning for the elections...I also thank the lakhs of employees and security personnel of the Election Commission. I also thank our voters and the first-time voters who came out to vote..."

After the INDIA alliance leaders meet, Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge says, "... INDIA Alliance will win at least 295 seats."

After casting his vote, TMC leader Kunal Ghosh said, "...BJP government has gone and government of INDIA alliance is about to come"

The voter turnout till 3 pm was recorded at 49.68 per cent in the 7th phase of elections.

To create awareness among the voters, a man arrived on a horse at a polling station to cast his vote in Kushinagar, Uttar Pradesh on Saturday (June 1).

While talking to the media persons, he said, "In the 2012, 2017 & 2022 assembly elections and 2014 & 2019 Lok Sabha polls, I had arrived on horse to cast my vote."

Meanwhile in West Bengal, the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) in West Bengal informed that a mob looted reserve Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and threw two VVPAT machines inside a pond. Read More...

In the last phase of the Lok Sabha elections 2024, voting is being held at the highest polling station in the world, which is situated at 15,256 feet.

The polling station, which is located in Tashigang and has 62 voters listed from Tashigang and Gete, has been converted into a model polling booth.
 

Hooghly Lok Sabha constituency's BJP candidate Locket Chatterjee cast her vote at a polling station in the last phase of Lok Sabha Elections2024.

Chatterjee said, "A large number of people have voted for BJP. Even the TMC people are upset about their party. BJP is going to get more than 30 seats in the state. There is a possibility that the TMC Govt can get toppled before 2026. Mamata Banerjee talks about democracy but the situation in West Bengal is the worst...Congress has no existence in the state..."

India's Home Minster and ruling party Bhartiya Janta Party's (BJP) member Amit Shah criticised Congress for distancing themselves from the exit poll debates ahead of the Lok Sabha 2024 election results. 

The ruling party has remained confident of clinching a historic third term under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the elections.

After Congress senior leader Pawan Khera made an announcement, both party's chief strategist and Minister Amit Shah and BJP chief JP Nadda said it appears the Opposition has already conceded defeat. Read More...

Lok Sabha Elections 2024 Phase 7 LIVE: 40.09% voter turnout recorded till 1 pm

Overall voter turnout during Phase 7 of polling in the Lok Sabha elections across 57 constituencies has been recorded at 26.03 per cent as of 11 am.

The highest voter turnout so has been recorded in Himachal Pradesh with 31.92 per cent.

"Today morning at 6.40 am (local time) Reserve EVMs & papers of Sector Officer near Benimadhavpur FP school, at 129-Kultali AC of 19-Jaynagar (SC) PC has been looted by local mob and 1 CU, 1 BU , 2VVPAT machines have been thrown inside a pond," said Chief Electoral Office in the Indian state of West Bengal in a post on X. 

It added, "Sector Police was a little behind. FIR has been lodged by Sector Officer and necessary action has been initiated. Poll process in all six booths under the Sector is running uninterrupted. Fresh EVM and papers have been provided to the Sector Officer."

"People of Punjab are aware and they vote in large numbers. We should use our right to vote. I appeal to Punjabis to come out of their homes and vote and choose good representatives who can work for you," said Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann after casting his vote. 

He added, "Today I cast my vote with my wife...There was some issue with VVPAT (at the polling booth) and the officials replaced it..."

Meanwhile, his wife, Dr Gurpreet Kaur urged women to "come out and vote in large numbers." She added, "We should also contribute to elect a good government that can work for us..."

RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, Rabri Devi and their daughter & party candidate from Saran Lok Sabha seat Rohini Acharya voted in the final phase of the elections.

Speaking to reporters, Rabri Devi said, "...We will win all the 40 seats in Bihar. INDIA alliance will come to power."

Voting for the seventh and final phase of the Lok Sabha elections started on Saturday. Polling being held in 57 constituencies across 8 states and Union Territories (UTs).

The phase 7 of the general elections 2024 will cover 57 Lok Sabha constituencies across eight states and Union Territories.
