Union Minister Prahlad Joshi responded to Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge's statement.

He said, "Whatever Modiji has done, be it going underwater to worship Dwarikadhish or visit the Ram Temple, it is his faith. You only wear skull caps. Now you have understood the 'Shakti' of Hindus. It is not right to question the faith of a person. I want to thank the Congress for the faith they expressed that BJP will stay till 2047."

Srinagar, J&K: Chief Electoral Officer Pandurang Pole says, "The voter turnout is 53%. It is the highest polling percentage in the parliamentary elections. The polling was conducted here in a peaceful manner."

Lok Sabha Elections 2024: "In Giridih, the voter turnout stands at 65.44 per cent. In Dhanbad, it is 58.90 per cent. In Ranchi, it is 58.73 per cent. In Jamshedpur, it is 66.79 per cent. This data, however, will be updated later," says Jharkhand Chief Electoral Officer K Ravi Kumar as sixth phase of polling concludes. Four constituencies - Giridih, Dhanbad, Ranchi and Jamshedpur - went to polls in the sixth phase of Lok Sabha elections in Jharkhand.

The sixth phase of the Lok Sabha elections for 58 parliamentary constituencies saw a cumulative voter turnout of 57.7 per cent till 5 pm, as per the data shared by the Election Commission on Saturday.

According to the poll body, West Bengal recorded the highest voter turnout (77.99 per cent) followed by Jharkhand (61.41 per cent), Uttar Pradesh (52.02 per cent), Odisha (59.60 per cent), Jammu and Kashmir (51.35 per cent), Bihar (52.24 per cent), Haryana (55.93 per cent), and Delhi (53.73 per cent).

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma says, "Tejashwi has nothing to do except singing….The government is of BJP, elections are in 2027…There is a good government of JD(U) and BJP…In Delhi, PM Modi will run the government….So, it is nice that he(Tejashwi) has started singing and practising”

A voter turnout of 49.20 per cent has been recorded till 3 pm. 

Jhargram BJP candidate Pranat Tudu was attacked at a village in Garbeta by local villagers. His car was ransacked while a CISF jawan, in charge of the security of the candidate, sustained injury on his head. 

Rakesh Daulatabad, an independent MLA from Haryana's Badshahpur assembly constituency, died of a heart attack on Saturday. He was 45 at the time of his death. 

As the sixth phase of the Lok Sabha elections in India kicked off on Saturday (May 25), the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) in West Bengal alleged that five Electronic Voting Machines (EVM) were found with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) tags on them.

So far, a voter turnout of 39.13 per cent has been recorded. West Bengal has registered the highest turnout at 54.80 per cent.

"...They are lying. They have been given the responsibility to rig the elections... This is just to induce fear in the minds of the people so that the Kashmiris don't come out and vote as they know that if the people of South Kashmir come out and vote then Mehbooba Mufti will win and will go to parliament. They can't tolerate me in the parliament..." said the candidate from Anantnag–Rajouri Lok Sabha seat.

Odisha records 7.57 per cent voter turnout till 9:00 am in the third phase of elections to its State Legislative Assembly, reported ANI. 

Forty-two assembly constituencies in Odisha are also going for polls in the sixth phase.

Assembly elections are being held in the Indian state simultaneously with the Lok Sabha elections in the state. 

“Unemployment and inflation are the major issues in the country today,” said Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra after casting vote in Delhi.

"We are keeping aside our grievances and casting votes for our Constitution and democracy...'Mujhe iss baat par garv hai' (I am proud of that)..." said the Congress leader when asked about Rahul Gandhi voting for AAP and Arvind Kejriwal voting for Congress. 

In the sixth phase of the Lok Sabha elections, the total voter turnout recorded till 9 am is 10.82 per cent.

Aam Aadmi Party Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal, who has alleged violence against her party member Bibhav Kumar, casts her vote at a polling booth in Delhi in the sixth phase of the Lok Sabha elections.

Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar and his wife Sudesh Dhankhar displayed their inked fingers after casting their votes at a polling booth in the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 in Delhi.

Former Chief Election Commissioner Sushil Chandra and his wife cast their votes at a polling booth in the capital city. He said, "I appeal to the people to exercise their franchise, only then a strong government will be formed at the Centre..."

President Droupadi Murmu reached a polling booth in Delhi and cast her vote in the sixth phase of the Lok Sabha Elections 2024.

PDP chief and party's candidate from Anantnag–Rajouri Lok Sabha seat, Mehbooba Mufti held a sit-in protest along with other party leaders and workers over detainment of PDP polling agents.

The leader alleged that PDP's polling agents and workers have been detained by the police without any reason and taken into custody by Jammu and Kashmir Police. The leader has blocked the road.

BJP candidate from Puri Lok Sabha seat Sambit Patra faced an issue with the electronic voting machine (EVM) at the polling booth.

"EVM is not working and I will speak to the returning officer and also request him for an extension of time," he added.

Delhi minister & AAP leader Atishi cast her vote in the sixth phase of Lok Sabha Elections 2024. "I have just come after casting my vote. I appeal to all the people of Delhi to come & cast their votes," said Atishi.

"We have received official information that last evening, LG had called a meeting of Delhi Police officials and instructions were given to Delhi Police that all the areas which are stronghold of INDIA alliance, voting should be slowed down in those areas. If this happens then it will be a violation of free and fair elections. So we hope that the Election Commission will take cognizance of this," she added.

People queued up as voting got underway in Ranbirpora, Anantnag in the sixth phase of the Lok Sabha Elections 2024.

Jammu and Kashmir National Conference's (JKNC) Mian Altaf Ahmad is fighting polls from the Anantnag-Rajouri Lok Sabha seat. Meanwhile, PDP fielded Mehbooba Mufti.

BJP East Delhi MP and former India Cricketer Gautam Gambhir cast his vote at a polling station in Delhi in the sixth phase of the elections. After casting his vote, Gambhir said, "All I want to say is that everyone should come out and vote in large numbers. This is our power, this is our democracy. The Govt has worked for development in the last 10 years..."

PM Modi said, "I request all the voters of the sixth phase of the Lok Sabha elections to come forward to vote in maximum numbers. Every vote matters and your vote is equally important!"

Voting for the sixth phase of Lok Sabha Elections 2024 begins. Polling is being held in 58 constituencies across 8 states and Union Territories (UTs) today. Simultaneous polling is being held in 42 Assembly constituencies in Odisha.

People queue up outside a polling booth in Ranchi to cast their votes; voting will begin at 7 am. Jharkhand's 4 constituencies will undergo polling in the 6th phase of the 2024 general elections.

Preparations for voting are underway at a polling booth in Keshpur, West Bengal. West Bengal's 8 constituencies will undergo polling in the 6th phase of the 2024 general elections.

Mock polls are underway at a polling booth in Rohtak, Haryana. Haryana's ten constituencies will undergo polling in the 6th phase of the 2024 general elections.

more than 11.13 crore voters include 5.84 crore male, 5.29 crore female and 5120 third gender electors are eligible to exercise their franchise in the sixth phase. Around 11.4 lakh polling officials will be involved in conducting his phase of election.

A report by news agency ANI mentioned that more than 8.93 lakh registered over 85-year-old voters, 23,659 voters above 100 years and 9.58 lakh PwD voters have been provided the option to vote from the comfort of their homes. 

In Delhi, some of the star campaigners addressed rallies to sought votes. The BJP campaign has been bolstered by rallies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and other party leaders.

Meanwhile, senior leaders of Congress have also held rallies in the national capital.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who has been released on interim bail by the Supreme Court in the Delhi excise policy case, also sought votes for AAP and Congress candidates. 

The contest in Delhi is significant. AAP and Congress are jointly taking on the BJP, which won all seven Lok Sabha seats in the national capital in the last two elections.

While Congress is contesting on three seats in the national capital, AAP is contesting on four. The two parties are part of the INDIA bloc.

Some of the key seats in this phase include New Delhi, North-East Delhi, North-West Delhi and Chandni Chowk in the national capital and Sultanpur and Azamgarh in Uttar Pradesh. 

Jammu and Kashmir's Anantnag-Rajouri, West Bengal's Tamluk, Medinipur, Haryana's Karnal, Kurukshetra, Gurgaon, Rohtak and Odisha's Bhubaneswar, Puri and Sambalpur are some of the other key seats. 

The prominent candidates in the fray include two former Chief Ministers - Manohar Lal Khattar and Mehbooba Mufti.

Khattar is contesting as the BJP candidate from Karnal and Mehbooba Mufti as the PDP nominee from Anantnag-Rajouri. 

Some other notable candidates include Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra and former Union Minister Maneka Gandhi. 

Bansuri Swaraj, Somnath Bharti, Manoj Tiwari, Kanhaiya Kumar, Dinesh Lal Yadav alias 'Nirahua', Dharmendra Yadav, Abhijit Gangopadhyay, Agnimitra Paul, Naveen Jindal, Raj Babbar, Deepender Singh Hooda, Kumari Selja and Aparajita Sarangia are among other prominent candidates in the fray. 

Forty-two assembly constituencies in Odisha are also going for polls in the sixth phase. Assembly elections are being held in the state simultaneously with the Lok Sabha elections in the state. 

India is all set for the penultimate round of the Lok Sabha battle as 58 seats across seven states and union territory will go to polls on Saturday (May 25). The Election Commission of India has made all arrangements to ensure voting goes smoothly and peacefully. 

The sixth phase of Lok Sabha polls includes eight seats in Bihar, all 10 seats in Haryana, one seat in Jammu and Kashmir, four in Jharkhand, all seven seats in Delhi, six in Odisha, 14 in Uttar Pradesh and eight in West Bengal. A total of 889 candidates are in the fray.
